Living Necklaces can be made from jewel bags, a seed, a moistened cotton ball, and a piece of yarn.
Collected flower and leaf specimens can be added to the notebook. Packing tape works well. Make sure to seal them down completely to keep them nice looking. 
Good connection to Common Core. I had the students write a question to enter the text. I read to the The Reason For a Flower by Ruth Heller. After we read, they write a question to exit the text.
