A Maker Movement Challenge-Launch a Marshmallow

This was a really fun STEM engineering project.  It was perfect for our discussion on the Maker Movement and low tech Makes.   My students (who are preservice teachers) were given a variety of materials: duct tape, toilet paper rolls, straws, balloons, rubber bands and craft sticks.  They were asked to come up with a machine to launch a marshmallow.  They were asked to think of original ideas and use the Design Process of Designing, Testing and Redesigning.  

In true Maker fashion I encouraged them to take photos and share their design.  There is a saying in the Maker Movement, It is not a Make unless you share it!
