Students will read informational text and solve the puzzles for five breakout codes in order to ESCAPE! This resource is a digital Escape Room with a science literacy connection. It can be used for Distance Learning and Online Learning! Students will use reading informational text skills as they learn about sea turtles. This resource is digital and self-checking. Students won’t be able to escape the room unless they have the correct answers. Incorrect codes are prompted to Try again! Really no prep for teachers! Just share the link. Great for remote learning. Works great with google classroom, but can also be shared with just a link. Great for independent work! Great for Earth Day, conservation or environmental reading

Here's how it works:

Your class will uncover a set of secret codes by navigating through a series of informational text passages with comprehension questions along with interactive drag-and-drop activities.

If the student answers all questions correctly, the codes will allow them to "escape" from the activity.

Digital escape rooms are perfect for distance learning or a homeschooling parent!

It works great with Google Classroom, but can also be shared with a simple link. Anyone can use it as long as they have an internet-connected device!

Questions are listed before the text passages to help students learn and practice "pre-reading" skills.

Skills such as asking questions before reading, making predictions based on the questions, and referring back to the text for evidence are necessary skills for any elementary student to learn.

This is a science literacy unit. Think of it as a reading unit with a science topic. It's hard to find informational text passages that are interesting but also rich in scientific information.

That's why I created this activity! To give students an engaging way to interact with one of nature's majestic creatures.
