Fourth Grade Teachers, Are you looking for a completely online unit on Waves to address the NGSS standards?

I have a great online unit in Google Slides and Google forms on Waves. Students will learn about mechanical and electromagnetic waves. They will learn about transverse and longitudinal waves and they will make a model identifying crest, trough, wavelength, and amplitude of a wave.

This resource is designed to address the standards:

NGSS 4-PS4-1. Develop a model of waves to describe patterns in terms of amplitude and wavelength and that waves can cause objects to move.

NGSS 4-PS3-2. Make observations to provide evidence that energy can be transferred from place to place by sound, light, heat, and electric currents.

This resource also covers Utah SEEd standards.

Utah SEEd Standard 4.3.1 Develop and use a model to describe the regular patterns of waves. Emphasize patterns in terms of amplitude and wavelength. Examples of models could include diagrams, analogies, and physical models such as water or rope. (PS4.A)

This unit is set up perfectly for distance learning and even includes videos of lab activities since students may not have materials at home. In the video, students are asked to identify transverse and longitudinal waves and see if they can observe the crest, trough, and wavelength.
