NGSS 2-ESS2-2
Develop a model to represent the shapes and kinds of land and bodies of water in an area.
One of my favorite things to do after teaching students to identify a few landforms is to have them make a model using play-doh
crayons, markers, paper, toothpicks and post-it notes. Students are instructed to make an imaginary land with as many landforms as they can think of.
I like to have students do some reading of nonfiction about landforms.
The students really enjoy putting together this cute layered book.
Next I have students practice with some landform puzzle matching games.
I like to follow this with some writing activities in the interactive notebook.
